My Journey with Generative AI

Coming from a design & engineering background plus simply a lifelong fascination with technology and creativity, I've always been drawn to the frontiers where technology intersects with human expression. When generative AI tools first started making waves, I was instantly captivated. The ability to conjure complex, beautiful, and sometimes utterly surreal imagery from text prompts felt like discovering a new language – a powerful way to translate imagination into visual reality. What began as curiosity quickly blossomed into a deep passion. I dove headfirst into experimenting, learning the nuances of different models, and discovering the sheer joy of collaborating with an AI to bring ideas to life that were previously impossible or would have taken countless hours to create manually.

My fascination lies not just in the final image, but in the process itself – the iterative dance of crafting the right prompt, guiding the AI, and being surprised by its interpretations. I primarily work with tools like Stable Diffusion, appreciating its depth and the control it offers through techniques like ControlNet and custom model training/merging, and Midjourney, for its unique aesthetic sensibilities and rapid iteration capabilities. Mastering prompt engineering is central to my practice, constantly refining my approach to achieve specific styles, moods, and compositions. I also frequently utilize inpainting/outpainting and explore style transfer techniques to further shape the generated images.
